There really is an answer out there. We could shore up our D in front of Andersen for next year. How much offense or money to we have to give up to do it.

I would definitely consider high picks for Trouba because he's young and Reilly/Trouba seems like a good combo for years to come. But I wouldn't do it for anyone else.

Love the Martin signing, it was so desperately needed if we're gonna move ahead with a ton of kids this season, didn't love the idea of having to force Michalek and Greening into the lineup.

Laich and Martin are the exact balance the team needs over the next couple years.

The only problem with signing Schenn is he is terrible.

I'd say that the addition of Matthews and likely Marner will help bolster the offense, plus Andersen in goal should be a LOT better than Bernier was last season. Throw in the fact that the Leafs lost 26 games by one goal last year, and I'd expect a few of those to go the other way.

In short, playoffs is a pipe-dream at this point, but I'd expect Leafs to improve somewhat compared to last year.
